The Library officially launched the Book Month with
the theme: "Indulge your senses, Nourish your imagination. READ! READ!
READ!” last November 5.
This month-long celebration included Spot Question, Book
Fair, Issuance of virtual library card & borrower's card, Multi-Intelligence
Challenge, Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R), Film Showing, Library Corner,
Story Telling and lastly, Book Drive.
Activities like Spot Question, Multi-Intelligence Challenge
were designed to assess the students' knowledge and to keep them alert. These
questions cover information beyond their regular class lessons.
What's more, activities like Book Fair, Issuance of Virtual
cards & Borrower's card, Library Corner and Classroom Library were made to encourage
students to read more and grow a habit of reading books. Also, there are some
activities designed for younger ones such as Story Telling for Kindergarten and Dictionary Master for Grades 4-6.
ACTIVITIES:
Every morning assembly, the librarian asked questions related to the trivia posted on 2nd floor bulletin board. Prizes were given to those who answered the questions correctly.

Classroom Library
Every class was asked to make a mini library in the classroom. The collections included books, serials & newspapers, juvenile literature and other sources of information as ready references. There were two winners--one for the upper grades and one for the lower grades. In addition, all participants received consolation prizes. The first set of winners would be announced on December 3, 2012, while the second and final sets of winners would be announced on March 15, 2013, and May 2013, respectively.
Through these activities, MITIS hoped more students would
develop their reading habit and gain more knowledge not only from school, but also
from self-reading.
