October 26 marked the end of the UN Month celebration with the theme: "International Year of Cooperatives."

For the culminating activity, different grade levels prepared presentations representative of their selected region. First came the lower grades with colorful presentations from the Philippines, China, Japan, and Australia. Then, the higher grades' performances commenced with Grades 4 and 5 doing an Ancient Egyptian dance while Grades 6 and 7 danced to the tune of "Jai Ho," a popular Indian dance song.

Grade 8 came up next with a dance inspired by the French folk song, "Je suis un artiste." Next was Grade 9 with a South African flower dance and a West African war chant. Grade 10 performed their own version of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours," complete with original lyrics, while Grade 10B had a Saudi Arabian dance. Grade 11 had a combination of South American dances like tango and salsa. Lastly, Grade 12 had a medley of North American dances from Mexico and Texas as well as a rendition of the famous "Chicken Dance."

As part of the month-long event, the Social Studies and MAP Departments organized a number of activities that fostered awareness of the school's ESLR's and STRIPES, namely the UN Quiz Bee, Day of Exploration, Banner-Making Contest, Mr. And Ms. UN Pageant, and the Classroom Design.

The winners of the Quiz Bee were Charles Denver Opague of Grade 5 for Set A and Michael Andre Barbarona for Set B. The grade levels who won the Classroom Design were Grade 2 for the lower grades and Grade 8 for the higher levels.

The group of Grades 6 and 7 won the Day of Exploration and got the Best Cultural Presentation award, while the united Grades 4 and 5 got the Best Costume and Best Banner awards.

Lastly, An Seo Yeong and Hyunjoong Kwon of Grade 11 won the Mr. And Ms. UN Pageant.

The UN Month was a colorful event that brought out the best in everyone. More importantly, though, it promoted cooperation, unity, and harmony, values that will someday build the leaders of the future.
