An orientation on internet safety, facilitated by Ms. Mae Kathryn Malanum and Mr. Eugenio Rios Jr., was held at the MITIS lobby last November 16.
Since MITIS had started using ebooks for class from Grades 6 - 12, Ms. Malanum reminded parents about internet safety. She also introduced Britannica Online, an online library recommended for research and further studies. She emphasized that although children these days are "digital natives," parents were still responsible for teaching their children the right use of the internet.
Afterwards, Mr. Rios explained how parents could monitor their children's gadget use. He suggested that parents access their children's gadget to keep an eye on them.
What's more, Ms. Malanum asked parents to create an Edmodo account so they could check what tasks were given to their children as well as what comments the teacher gave regarding their performance.
Through this orientation, MITIS once again brought parents up-to-date with regard to their children's technological resources.
