The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of MIT International School elected its new set of officers at the MITIS library last September 7, Friday.
The parents voted Mr. David Blanco as president.
Mr. Alfredo Suansing and Mrs. Yoo (Lee Yeon Soo) were the new PTA vice presidents.
Mrs. Chung (Jong Im Lee) was chosen as secretary and Mr. Kim Seong Moon as the assistant.
The members of the PTA voted Mrs. Jazon Lavilla as the treasurer, while Mrs. Emma Simba as auditor.
Because of the school's respect for cultural differences, Public Relations Officers (PRO) represented both Filipinos and Non-Filipinos. Mrs. Dong (Jung Myung Sook) was the new Non-Filipino PRO, and Mrs. Susan Barbarona was the Filipino PRO.
Parents approved of the new president, as Mrs. Julie Perez said, "I am satisfied with the new president because I believe he can be a great leader." In addition, Mrs. Barbarona, the newly elected PRO, said, "I'm happy that he is supportive."
The new PTA officers had their oath taking today, September 14.
