On Friday, September 7, between 3 and 4 pm, the Math Wizards' Club of MITIS held a fundraiser in the 10 B classroom for an upcoming event scheduled on the last week of September.
The fundraiser was organized and carried out by the members of the club themselves with Ms. Anna Deborah Medina, Club Adviser. She said, "We want to be self-supporting and raise the funds ourselves." The sandwiches sold during the fundraiser were a big hit with some of the students and teachers because they were sold out soon after the fundraiser started. The event was a success with the club raising enough money for the event they were sponsoring.
The Mid Autumn Festival, which is held in China on the last week of September, prompted this fundraiser. According to Ms. Michelle "Ka Lao Shi" Calixtro, this festival related to Math in that some of its activities like dice throwing involved probabilities. As a result, Math Wizards' Club decided to sponsor the event.
