Otto Kwon from Grade 11 defeated his opponents with 39 points in the Math Quiz Bee held on Thursday, the 17th of January.
Following closely at his heels with 36 and 30 points were the 2nd and 3rd place winners, Gino Mun and Jackson Lee, both from grade 10B. It was a close match in all three categories of the competition with these three,but Kwon managed to top each round and snatch 1st place in the end.
The Math Quiz Bee consisted of three categories; the first being the easiest round with 15 questions for 30 seconds each and 2 points per correct answer.The second category was the easier round with 10 questions for 1 minute each and 3 points per correct answer, and lastly, the easy round with 5 questions for 2 minutes each and 6 points per correct answer.
The activity, hosted by Sir Iryll Pantoja, was part of many others which took place during the Math Week from the 13th to 18th January,2013.
