Grade 7 bags the first place in a Math competition for middle school

Lee Jeonggyu (Nick) of grade 7 overtook students from grade 8, 9, and ESL 1 during the Quiz Bee held today, January 17.

Lee, who scored 35 points, bested second placer Lim Sujin (Kate) who got 24 points and third placer Jun Keun Woo (Andrew) who scored 23. Lim and Jun, both grade 9 students, had a tie-breaker after garnering 23 points.

The quiz bee had twelve participants, with each class having three representatives. The competition had three categories: the easiest round, where students were given 30 seconds to answer the question; easier round, where they had 45 seconds; and the easy round, where they solved the problems for 1 minute.

The competition was part of the Math Week's activities which were designed to promote greater aptitude and skill in Mathematics.
