MITIS introduced major changes in its Academic and Discipline Programs during the Parents’ Orientation held at the MITIS lobby last August 31, Friday.
Considered the highest number of participants, fifty parents and guardians of different nationalities such as Nigerians, Papua New Guineans, Filipinos, and Koreans attended the orientation.
Area coordinators discussed important concerns. Ms. Mae Kathryn Malanum, Language Coordinator, explained the new academic program and the use of e-books. Ms. Lei Pangilinan, Student Activity Coordinator, identified the new activities for this school year including the Creative Social Outreach (CSO), Student Coordinating Board (SCB), and clubs. Mr. Eugenio Rios Jr., Student Prefect, explained the new disciplinary program including the rules on the use of tablets and laptops in class and the new school cardigan.
In addition, Ms. Mariselle Revita, former president of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), highlighted the issues they encountered last year in preparation for the incoming PTA's election of officers. Student discipline, as well as the ventilation in the school cafeteria, was one of the concerns raised.
Due to time constraints, election of officers was moved to September 7, Friday.
