Due to the typhoon Maring, MITIS initiated Operation S2:
(Solidarity & Service), a relief operation for typhoon and flood
victims.
The
donations gathered from the MITIS community were then forwarded to
the Muntinlupa City Hall by Ms. Mae Malanum, Vice Principal; Ms. Lei
Pangilinan, Student Activity Coordinator, and Ms. Josephine Camacho,
Finance Officer, last August 27, 2013. They were accompanied by Grade
11 students Park Juwon (Tony) and Lee Wonjae (Jackson), and Grade 12 students Bona Mae
Simba, Monica Felizardo, and Otto Kwon.
The
Muntinlupa City officials, overjoyed, thanked the school’s
initiative to help others and graciously praised the students’
social awareness.
The
relief goods consisted of several boxes of assorted packs of noodles,
bags of rice, canned goods, and other items donated by students and
teachers alike.
