Grades 4 and 5 and their advisers, Mr. Melvin Nifas and Ms. Sheryl Ecobisag collaborated to act out a skit which won them the Best Performance prize. The students were very excited when their grades were announced as winners and couldn't stop cheering.Their excitement was contagious, and other grades who didn't win couldn't help but be excited for their friends as well.
Under the second category, which is poster making, the prize went to Grade 11 students and their adviser Sir Iryl Pantoja. They made a poster which demonstrated how they kept peace with other people.
The prize for the Best Video went to Grade 9 students and Ms.Mae Malanum, their adviser. Not only was their video well-planned and recorded, it also relayed the importance of peace to the audience in a creative way.
The activities were in honor of the International Peace Day: a day put aside every September 21 for people to recognize the importance of peace in this world. This day brought to mind what it is to be at peace with each other and what the world would be like if everyone got along. That way, it encouraged people to do their best--both individually and collectively--to live peacefully.
The celebration was organized by the SCB, as suggested by President Rimmer Dong. The Masters of Ceremony were Franco Reboredo,Peace Officer for the SCB, and Bona Mae Simba, SCB's Secretary. After the announcement of winners and SCB Vice President Lee Jeong Il's closing remarks, the IPD celebration for 2012 was over.
